Centre for Global Leadership Development is a premier institution of the Assemblies of God established to prepare women and men to serve God as servant-leaders. The institution was first founded in the year 1951 with the name Southern Asia Bible Institute.
The school was moved to its present campus in the northern suburbs of Bangalore in the year 1971. The name of the institution was changed to Southern Asia Bible College and graduate and post-graduate theological programs were offered to prepare men and women for the transforming ministry of the church in the pentecostal tradition.
SABC became one of the founding members of Asia Theological Association, an association of more than 150 Evangelical theological institutions in 22 nations. The programs of SABC have been accredited by ATA.
In order to facilitate its ever increasing boundaries of influence, the Board of Directors of SABC decided to change the name of the institution to Centre for Global Leadership Development in the year 2007. Since then, Centre for Global Leadership Development has continued to grow in its ministry to prepare leaders for the Church and the World.
While SABC continues its original mission of developing ministers, CGLD has given rise to three more schools to diversify its efforts to develop generations of leaders for the Church and World. Global School of Open Learning, Global School of Counselling, and Global School of Media Arts and Communication are some of our initiatives that have begun to significantly increase the influence of the institution.
Academic Excellence, Spiritual fervour and ministerial formation are the hallmark of the Centre for Global Leadership Development.Today, CGLD is a family of more than 2500 students and scholars with a passion to love and serve the Lord and a commitment to see the transformation of the world through the love of Jesus Christ.
